At the bottom of this post, I am providing a link to a TEST hotfix for those who have experienced freezes with the NGX.

We have had some folks test this hotfix during the course of the day today and we think it is providing sufficient improvement that it is worth having all of you test it to see where we are.

A few notes before you download:

1) This hot fix is going to kill any installed liveries. As such, we recommend that you uninstall your liveries FIRST, then run the hot fix, then reinstall your liveries. (Failure to do this will cause you to have to manually delete the livery texture directories in order to reinstall them... oops... we'll fix that in the livery installer for the SP)

2) This hot-fix is not required unless you experienced freezes but you should install it anyway just for the sake of having the most current version. If you were seeing freezes they should be rare if at all, and if you did not have freezes, the update won't hurt you.

3) If, after installing this Hot-Fix you experience a freeze, we ask that you open a support ticket and provide us with as much detail about the what you were doing at the time the freeze wa triggered. Please include a flight plan, and what screens were displayed on your CDUs...

4) This HotFix has not yet been incorporated into the installer. We will do that once we know we have gotten the freezes stabilized, so for now if you have the NGX installed, we recommend that you should run this fix.

Important Note:
This Hot-Fix is a TEST ARTICLE. I fully anticipate that we will need to do a bit more work in this area, but if we have knocked down the rate of this problem by 90%, we might as well put it in your hands while we finish looking.

This Hot-Fix is targeted specifically at eliminating the source of freezes.
