Hello again and Happy New Year!, any news on my issue?
It is ok, you know maybe this is related to the creators FAIL (:P) update of windows 10, i have read it affects stuff related to .net, therefore it affects also SimConnect.
Hey!, any news about the problem with the gauge?
I did what you asked but unfortunately the problem persists :S, FSX asked me to re trust the gauge (i had deleted the fsx.cfg the day before to rebuild it), but then as i tried to load it it just flashed once and nothing more.
Hello!, i will try that as soon as i can get access to my computer, thanks!
I have been poking around here and there, do you have a way to see if my simconnect "installation" is ok and is not "leaking"?, because i read that sometimes there are issues with the simconnect that can lead to failed communication between software modules.
Is there an FSUIPC version of this gauge?
that was nothing, any clue on what can be the issue?, i progressed as far as i could with the carrier configurations, but i need to use the gauge to complete what is left.
Do you know the programmer of the RFN gauge?, maybe we can suggest him/her to update the gauge to .NET 4.x?
Well yes of course, this is some very bad luck, i was really looking forward to use the gauge, i even started to make some configurations for the ARA V2 25 de Mayo and for the Kiev Class aircraft carriers.
I reinstalled .NET 1.x, 2.x and 3.5, but the problem still persists, i also cleared the gauge permission in the fsx.cfg and of course it asked me to authorize the gauge, but i still can not use the gauge in the simulator.
I was reading, the older versions just means my FSX:SE is compatible with older (RTM and SP1) add-ons and software for FSX, nothing else.
Yes same here, i can provide you the FSUIPC.log file if you need. If there is no dependencies for this gauge that i may be missing then i do not know what else can be a problem, like i said before, turning that option off in FSPS allowed me to see the gauge in the editor and interact with it there, but only on FSPS, the situation on the simulator remains the same :S
What are the dependencies for the gauge?, simconnect?, maybe my version of simconnect is not proper?, any other dependencies?
Well i do not have any of those, plus, i have been running my FSX only with FS Real Time for testing.
I think that maybe i am missing some file from the MODULES folder, but my installation of FSX is complete and proper, i just checked, can you tell me of any modules related to or required by the RFN gauge that i need to have in the MODULES folder please?
Do i need any file in my MODULES folder?, perhaps from a previous version or from some related gauge/software?
I just followed the indication given by FSPS about trying to disable "resolve gauge dll dependencies" in the preferences and now the RFN TACAN gauge APPEARS in FSPS (and only in FSPS).
Unfortunately there has been no changes, i saw that the gauge you sent me last is newer, but still the problem persists...
I have a dedicated hard drive for all my downloads, with the letter D:, i always unzip my files in that drive. Do you know of any other software for FSX that may interfere with the RFN gauge?, still that would not explain the apparent corruption of the file :S
My FSX:SE installation is on a dedicated hard drive with the letter E:, you think that it being in a different drive can somehow corrupt the gauge?
If you need me for testing possible solutions i have no problems on doing so.
Can you confirm me that the RFN gauge works fine with the T-45?
No, like i said, it does not work, it shows the same behaviour as before, along with the "Carrier Ops" window.
vLSO is not a pre requisite.
Try to install the gauge in another aircraft (T45 by Dino)
I will add a link to you with this panel.cfg ready.Edit :

Installed and checked, neither "Carrier Ops" nor "TACAN RFN" windows work, both of them show the same behaviour (flashing for a moment and never appearing after that). I tried with the gauge inside the panel and inside Gauges folder (not at the same time)
The T-45C handles nicely :)
When right cliking on the file RFN_carrierGauge.dll you will have
1 831 936 octets (General) and 4.2.0.1 11/07/2017 12:59 (Details)Can you try to put the dll in the folder panel of the aircraft?
OK, Gauge information from details tab is as follows:
Description of file Flight Simulator X Gauge
Type Application extension
Version of file 4.2.0.1
Name of product RFN Carrier Gauge
Version of product RFNvLSO_SharedFile_v100
Copyright RFN Design
Size 1,74 MB
Date of modification 10/11/2017 12:06
Language English (United States)
I moved the file RFN_CarrierGauge.dll to the panel folder of Romain Lucas Super Etendard Modernise, the problem is the same and persist.
Maybe i need that vLSO?, i do not have it, i only installed the RFN Carrier Gauge, but i understand that the gauge comes with an LSO in English and French.
Again, thank you so very much for all this help.
2-5-1) General case
- In the Windows control panel, check the presence of Microsoft Visual C ++ 2010 32-bits (x86) which is essential for the functioning of the gauge, regardless of any other versions of C++. Microsoft.Net Framework is also required. Microsoft Flight Simulator SimConnect Client must be present.
- In FSX/gauges, check for the gauges (DSD_Sound_Gauge.gau, RFN_Carrier.xml, RFN_CarrierGauge.dll, RFN_Parameters.xml) and that they are not corrupted during their decompression and their implementation, for example by antivirus.
- In the panel.cfg file of each equipped airplane, section [Window Titles], check the window number to be in the order of the statements and must match the installation of the TACAN RFN window. In the sections [WindowXX] and [VCockpit01], check all the lines of the gauge.
Yes, i have read the full manual, on my installation of windows, the following are installed:
SimConnect client 10.0.60906.0
SimConnect client 10.0.61242.0
SimConnect client 10.0.61259.0
SimConnect client 10.0.62615.0
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Visual C++ 2010 x86 redistributable 10.0.40219
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
.NET framework 4.7.1
The panels are properly set and numbered according to instructions.
The only thing i suspect is the file RFN_CarrierGauge.dll itself, however it does NOT appear to be corrupted, even so, it fails to load in FSX:SE, and FSPS reports it as "not a gauge file"
Hi Yusta
Have a look on this link.
In the downloaded folder, you will find all the necessary gauge files.
Just delete the end (.txt) to having original names files.
If you have another disk than C:, it will be better to dowload folder on it.
Let me know the result.

Edit : in the pack, there is also RFN gauge with .gau extension.
Thank you for the answer, unfortunately the problem persists, the gauge is unusable, it only flashes black once for a second and nothing else, and FSPS still reports it as not a gauge file.
Am i missing some other required file?, is there any previous step that i need to take to install the gauge?
I am using FSX Steam Edition on Windows 10 Pro X64.
Hello, i hope you can understand English :)
I have a problem with the RFN gauge, no matter how many times i have downloaded it, using the default download method on Firefox, IE and Edge and also using a download manager, the gauge appears corrupted, not only it does not shows anything in the simulator (just a flashing black outline for a couple of seconds), but also fs panel studio reports it as "not a gauge file". Obviously there is something wrong on my side, maybe some of the security settings?, is there any possibility to download from another server?, or maybe if you rename it to *.gau, then windows will not corrupt it during the download? (i am just guessing a solution here).
If there is any solution for this problem please let me know, and thank you for the help.
